Is an ordinary cream as good as after-sun?
Radio 2, 7 August 2023
Dr Griet Voet on Radio 2 on the difference between an ordinary moisturising cream and after-sun after sunbathing.

On the summer programme Radio 2 aan Zee, Dr Griet Voet answered the question of whether you can use an ordinary cream instead of after-sun after sunbathing.
Her answer: any cream that moisturises is a good choice. An after-sun does, however, contain a few extra ingredients that help cool sunburnt skin, reduce redness and counter dehydration.
Key advice
After sunbathing, any moisturising cream is a good choice.
For sunburnt skin, after-sun offers extra cooling and less redness.
“All moisturising creams are certainly good too.” — Dr Griet Voet
