Wound care

Wound care covers both the treatment of acute wounds — following trauma, a cut or a procedure — and of chronic, hard-to-heal wounds. At our clinic in Gent, every wound is thoroughly evaluated, with attention to both local care and the possible underlying causes such as vascular disease, diabetes or skin infections. An accurate diagnosis is essential for an optimal healing process.

When more extensive treatment is required, we work closely together within a multidisciplinary team, including our plastic surgeon for specialised wound treatment and reconstructive care. For patients with chronic wounds resulting from a diabetic foot, our medical podiatrist is also available for support and preventive follow-up.

Our approach combines medical expertise, technological precision and personal follow-up. In this way, we not only aim for faster healing, but also minimise the risk of scarring and recurrence as much as possible.
