Hair and scalp disorders
From hair loss to complex hair diseases
Our dermatology clinic specialises in hair and scalp disorders, with an approach that combines the highest medical expertise with aesthetic care.
Hair loss and scalp complaints can have a major impact and often have an underlying, treatable cause. At our clinic in Gent, we first map this out precisely — from androgenetic alopecia (hereditary hair loss) and alopecia areata to diffuse hair loss, dandruff and other scalp disorders — so that we can treat it in a targeted way.
Our integrated approach, based on close collaboration between the dermatologist and the aesthetic expert, guarantees a complete, effective and personalised treatment, both medically and aesthetically.
We treat a broad spectrum of hair disorders, ranging from localised or diffuse hair loss to complex hair diseases. Depending on the underlying cause, medical therapies may be chosen, such as minoxidil, finasteride, corticosteroids, immunomodulatory medication, etc. These treatments are always tailored individually after a thorough evaluation of the hair type, the pattern of hair loss and any underlying conditions.
In addition to medical treatments, we also offer aesthetic therapies to stimulate hair growth and improve hair density. These include, among others, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and hair fillers. PRP therapy uses growth factors from the patient's own blood to activate the hair follicles and promote hair growth. Hair fillers, on the other hand, contain hyaluronic acid and biomimetic peptides that hydrate the scalp, strengthen the hair structure and visibly improve the volume of the hair.
